Behind every important decision that has shaped Dulgher Family Estate stand Petru and Svetlana Dulgher—two people who, for nearly five decades, have built their life and their business together, transforming mutual trust into the family's greatest strength.

Petru Dulgher is the person who always sees the next step. For more than four decades, he has built businesses around a simple principle: before investing, one must understand people, the land and the needs of the market. From his first commercial ventures in the 1990s to the development of one of the most important private wine estates in the Republic of Moldova, every stage has been guided by the same ability to anticipate opportunities and transform challenges into new directions for growth.

A graduate in Viticulture and Winemaking, Svetlana Dulgher is the balance that has made this development possible. As Financial Director, she built the economic and organisational structure of the business, ensuring the stability required for each stage of growth to be successfully achieved. If Petru envisions the future, Svetlana creates the systems that turn that vision into reality.

Together, they have built, step by step, what is today Dulgher Family Estate, one of the most important private agricultural estates in the Republic of Moldova. The estate manages more than 2,000 hectares of agricultural land in the south of the country, including approximately 360 hectares of vineyards, which provide all the grapes used by Gitana Winery 1953.

A graduate of the Faculty of Law, Lilia Dulgher joined the family business immediately after completing her studies, taking responsibility from the very beginning for the commercial development and marketing strategy of the Dulgher Family Estate projects. Her contribution was recognised early in her career when, at the age of 30, she was awarded the “Civic Merit” Medal by the President of the Republic of Moldova for her contribution to the development of the country’s socio-economic infrastructure.

The eldest daughter of founders Petru and Svetlana Dulgher, Lilia is today the architect of the global expansion of Gitana Winery 1953. Under her leadership, the brand has progressed through every stage of its international development—from the first export to Canada in 2012 and the entry into the Romanian market in 2014, to expansion into Asia and the establishment of the estate’s own companies in Switzerland, Japan and Germany. At the same time, she has consolidated a distribution network that now reaches more than 20 countries worldwide.

One of the two daughters of founders Petru and Svetlana Dulgher, Iuliana Dulgher has played a key role in expanding the family's vision, transforming the experience gained in the vineyard and winery into a brand with a distinctive identity and international recognition. She has been instrumental in the evolution of Gitana Winery 1953, helping shape a direction where terroir, winemaking excellence and the values of the Dulgher family have come together to create an authentic identity.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and further specialised through the Master of Science in Vine, Wine and Terroir Management (Vintage) programme in Angers, France.

Today, together with Petru Dulgher, she oversees production and the technical direction of Gitana Winery 1953, working closely with winemaker Nicola Tucci and agronomist Patrizio Gasparinetti. At the same time, she leads the development of the estate's portfolio and brand identity, ensuring that the family's vision, the expression of the terroir and the uncompromising quality standards remain at the heart of every wine bearing the Dulgher Family Estate signature.

A graduate of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Padua and an agronomist with extensive international experience, he has built his reputation on the ability to understand and interpret the unique characteristics of each terroir. Convinced that the identity of a wine begins with the balance between soil, vine and climate, he has dedicated his career to developing viticultural practices that bring out the full potential of each vineyard's natural resources.

He is a partner at ProgettoNatura, an Italian viticultural consultancy with over 30 years of experience in technical assistance and innovation.

Since 2014, he has worked closely with the Dulgher family, becoming a trusted partner in the continuous process of understanding, nurturing and refining the vineyards of Gitana Winery 1953.

A graduate of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at the University of Milan, Nicola Tucci has built his career in some of the world’s most renowned wine regions, gaining international experience in Italy, Spain, Argentina, Australia and Tunisia. His expertise in fermentation processes and his commitment to preserving traditional winemaking methods define an approach in which technical precision is always placed at the service of terroir expression.

Since 2013, he has worked alongside the Dulgher family, contributing to the development of the enological identity of Gitana Winery 1953 and to the creation of wines that faithfully reflect the character of the vineyards of Valul lui Traian.
